Oakley Airwave are snow goggle with an incorporated head-up display. The device combines protective glasses with a small see-through display positioned in the lower right of the wearer's field of view. Airwave offers several features: performance statistics (speed, heading, elevation, airtime), GPS navigation, and music player. It can be be paired with a smartphone to expand the utility even further via a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection.

Main characteristics

The Oakley Airwave HUD unit (MOD Live made by Recon Instruments[6]) features a high contrast 16-bit LCD micro display with resolution of 428x240 pixels. The device has the following sensors: accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, altimeter, and barometer. The device can connect to the Internet and/or other devices via Wi-Fi (IEEE802.11a/b/g/n) and Bluetooth 4.0. Data processing is handled by the 1 GHz Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 with PowerVR SGX540 processor and the device has 1 GB of DDR2 RAM. The battery is 1200 mAh and the manufacturer indicates that it should last approximately for 6 hours. Apart from Bluetooth and Wi-Fi equipped smartphones, it can also be paired and synchronized with Windows or Apple operating systems.
