Speech technologies are technologies or devices that can understand and/or produce human-like speech. These technologies allow the users to use their devices hands-free by merely saying required commands, mostly in plain, natural speech. The speech generation is useful in applications such as text-to-speech or intelligent personal assistants.
In this category, we also include speech prostheses technologies that can return voice to persons who lost their natural one as a result of a surgery or an accident.
